                                                                                      Permanent magnetic coupling is a new type of coupling 

                                                                                      which connects the prime mover and the working 

                                                                                      machine through  the magnetic force of the permanent 

                                                                                      magnet. It does not need the direct mechanical 

                                                                                      connection but uses the interaction between the 

                                                                                      permanent magnets. Permanent magnetic coupling 

                                                                                      transmits torque through magnetic forces between the internal and the external rotor without any mechanical force.

     

    The magnetic coupling is mainly composed of external rotor, internal rotor and isolation cover. The presence of a magnetic coupling completely solves the leakage problem of moving seals in certain mechanical devices.

     

    Permanent magnetic couplings are most commonly used in liquid pumps and propeller systems because static physical barriers can be placed between the two shafts to separate the fluid from the motor running in the air. The magnetic shaft coupling prevents the use of shaft seals, which eventually wear and fail to slide from both surfaces to each other. When using a physical shaft coupling, magnetic coupling can also be used for maintenance on systems that typically require precise alignment because they are allowing for large off-axis errors between the motor and the driven shaft.

     

    Permanent magnetic coupling is widely used in chemical, electroplating, paper, pharmaceutical,

    foodstuff, vacuum and other industries sealed transmission machinery.

     

    Magnetic Coupling

    Working principle

    The magnets are installed alternating between poles (N - S, 

    S - N)in a side by side and opposing position from the sketch.

    The magnets support is of ferromagnetic material to aid the 

    leading of the magnetic field correctly and therefore maximizing 

    the transmittable torque.

     

     The magnetic coupling is a synchronous system, the RPM of the internal half of the coupling is equal to the RPM of the external half of the coupling.

     

    Characteristic

    Application

    One of the successful applications of magnetic couplings is its combination with pumps - magnetic pumps. The liquid in the most of these areas such as petrochemical, pharmaceutical, electroplating, nuclear power are with  corrosive, flammable, explosive, toxic, it may get leakage of working fluid waste and environmental pollution.The vacuum and the semiconductor industry needs to prevent the invasion of external gases. Diet, biology, medicine also needs to ensure the pure health of the media. It can be said that magnetic pump is a major market for magnetic materials.

     

     

    With the development of magnetic materials and the emergence of new magnetic materials, magnetic coupling transmission torque will be more and more large, the volume will be smaller and smaller,so its application will be more and more wide, not only pumps and reactors , but also applied to valves, hydraulic cylinders as well as other occasions that needs to solve the problem of dynamic seal leakage.

     

    Nowadays,Permanent magnetic coupling is widely used in Hydraulic systems, compressors, sterilizers, industrial furnaces, biotechnology, metering systems, subsea equipment, pharmaceutical industry, chemical industry, food industry, generators, mixers etc fields.
